Ivy is relaying after finding out she is the halfling that everyone has been looking for. However everyone thinks it is Valerie, best friend who betrayed the order to the fae prince.

She keeps it a secret that fae
Prince is after her. She continues her relationship with Ren, despite knowing who will not take the news of her being the halfling well.
Eventually, Ivy sees Valerie and chases her down. She questions Val on why she betrayed everyone. Valerie claims that she was taken by the FAE and now allows them to feed on her and it is the best feeling. She feels no remorse for getting her parents killed and says aligning herself with the FAE is what’s best for everyone.
The FAE Prince who Valerie calls Drake arrives and kills Valerie because she betrayed Ivy(even though she works for him) Saying that he did Ivy a favor.

David and Ren force Ivy to take a couple days off after she sees Valerie die. She is hesitant to do so but it does end up helping.
In the middle of the night, a fae knight
Comes to assassinate Ren in his sleep. They almost lose the battle, but tink (ivey’s brownie housemate) suddenly transforms into a powerful handsome…Naked man and vanquishes the Fae Knight. IV feel betrayed by tink always assuming he was small. He explains to her that this is the form she met him in and it was easier for him to stay in it.
Ivy eventually decides to tell Ren that it is she who is the halfling. He does not take the news well and leaves her.

Ivy visits a friend who’s mother has disappeared. They let on that a long time ago a subset fae and humans once work together to keep peace.
Ivy knows this changes everything. She is told to keep quiet however and stop asking questions about it.
Ren eventually comes to his senses and apologizes to Ivy about the way he took the news. She is shocked that he still wants to be with her, given his job as an elite is to eliminate the halfling. He says that she is more important than his job and they will face this together.

They start to get hot and heavy when another Elite, Henry comes-a-knocking and interrupts them. Henry comes in and Ren kills him swiftly and without remorse. He tells Ivy that Henry knew she was the halfling and had to be dealt with.

Ivy then freaks out, not willing to believe Ren could be so cruel and ruthless. She wishes Val was here to confide in.

She and Ren sit down for coffee amd Ivy notices that Ren is putting very little sugar…compared to his usual 6 spoons of sugar. That’s when it hits her. This… thing is not Ren.
The jig is up and it turns out to be Drake. They fight and he subdues her, taking her back to his lair.

There she finds Ren, alive, but barely, having been fed on by a particularly handsy Fae named Brina.

Ivy makes a bargain with Drake. If he let’s go of Ren and promised no further harm will come to him, she will consent to. Conceiving his child…in 3 weeks. She barters for time, hoping it’ll give her a chance to escape.
After some time before the 3 weeks are up, Ivy and Drake fight and he reveals to her, halflings can feed of humans, just like the fae and forces her to do so. She feeds many times, and is constantly sleeping due to the after effects of euphoria and drowsiness. Then Boom, a fae named…um, Fay forces Ivy awake after a feed and helps her escape.

Fay is one of the summer fae, the “good” fae who don’t feed on people. Turns out they also recruited Ren into their ranks, along with Tink, who has been staying with Ren till now.

Ren convinces Ivy he is not Drake masquerading as Ren but the real Ren. He tells her he loves her and that he never should habe acted the way he did to the newd that she was the halfling.

Tink got a kitten while Ivy was away and she feels all sorts of emotion for little kitty dixon and Tink who is taking care of him.

Ren and Ivy know they cannot let Drake get his hands on her, or she will have a child capapable of opening tgr gateway, lesding to humanity’s doom. After all they’ve been through, they must still fight. They must be brave.
